Sierra Leone suffered a 1-0 defeat to Equatorial Guinea in Cameroon on Tuesday, recording their second consecutive loss in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Leone Stars were unable to recover from their 3-2 defeat to Zimbabwe in their opening Group F fixture and remain without a point after two matches.

The latest defeat leaves Sierra Leone at the bottom of the group and puts further pressure on head coach Da Rosa and his technical team as the team’s qualification hopes come under increasing scrutiny.

Sierra Leone will face DR Congo in their next two qualifying matches. DR Congo currently have six points after securing a 2-1 away victory over Zimbabwe.

Following the consecutive defeats, some Sierra Leone supporters have called on the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to consider changes to the technical team, including the position of head coach Da Rosa.
