The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) Executive Committee (“EXCO”), chaired by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, met virtually on Friday, 2 October 2026 and approved a number of important decisions relating to CAF Competitions and the organisation’s forward calendar.
The Executive Committee approved the CAF Competitions Calendar for the 2026–2030 period, providing Member Associations, Clubs and other stakeholders with greater certainty in planning for CAF Competitions and Events.
The CAF EXCO also confirmed that the CAF Awards 2026 will take place in Lagos, Nigeria, on Monday, 7 December 2026. Nigeria will also host the CAF Ordinary General Assembly on Saturday, 21 November 2026.
The EXCO received an update on the preparations for the upcoming CAF Strategy Conference in Sal, Cabo Verde, to be held between 7–9 October 2026.
CAF Interclub Competition
The following amendments were approved:
- Registration and qualification of players: To allow players to play for more than one club during one (1) CAF Interclub season.
- Number of registrations: Each club can have a maximum of 40 players registered at any point during the season. Clubs are allowed to replace four (4) players in the last period of registration if those players have not been fielded in CAF Interclub matches during the season.
- Disciplinary matters: All disciplinary matters will now be referred to the Disciplinary Board, removing responsibility from the Interclub Committee.
CAF Women’s Champions League 2026
The CAF Executive Committee approved the dates of the CAF Women’s Champions League 2026. The Final Competition will be played from 1–15 November 2026.
CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Senegal 2026
Champions Senegal will host the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations from 28 November to 6 December 2026.
