The soon-to-be-completed New Age Boxing Academy is set to usher in a dynamic new era for sports across the country, standing as a high-performance sanctuary for the nation’s rising combat sports talent.

Founded by former Sierra Leonean international boxing star and UK-certified coach Abdul Bangura, the Makeni-based facility directly addresses a long-standing gap in local athletic infrastructure.
Designed as a modern, centralized training hub, the academy will serve as a primary pipeline for scouting, nurturing, and refining local talent—transforming grassroots enthusiasts into disciplined, elite competitors.
The complex is equipped with a regulation ring, dedicated strength and conditioning spaces, modern gear, and residential housing for young athletes.
Under guided coaching and structured professional mentorship, emerging fighters will receive the tactical education and physical conditioning necessary to compete on equal footing with international contenders.
Underscoring his vision for the sport, CEO Abdul Bangura expressed confidence in the transformative potential of the project:
“The future of Sierra Leonean boxing lies in the hands of our young athletes. By building a sustainable succession plan through this academy, the sky will truly be the limit for Sierra Leone and its international sports aspirations.”
As construction nears completion, the New Age Boxing Academy represents far more than a physical facility, it stands as a transformative investment in Sierra Leonean youth, providing the country’s fighters with the platform, resources, and hope required to hoist the national flag on the world stage.
