The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed an appeal filed by Madam Aminata Bangura against a decision of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Ethics Board, bringing the matter to a close at the international sports arbitration level.

According to an SLFA press release issued on Monday, October 5, 2026, CAS confirmed the decision of the SLFA Ethics Board dated July 19, 2025, and dismissed Bangura’s appeal in its entirety.

The ruling was issued in the arbitration matter CAS 2025/A/11613 Aminata Bangura v. Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA).

As part of its award, CAS ordered the appellant to bear the costs of the arbitration proceedings and further directed her to contribute CHF 3,000 towards the SLFA’s legal costs and expenses.

The SLFA has welcomed the CAS decision, describing it as an affirmation of the decisions taken by its judicial bodies and highlighting the importance of integrity, transparency and compliance in football governance.

The Association also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of good governance and accountability in the administration of football in Sierra Leone.

The CAS ruling represents a significant development in the dispute, as the Ethics Board’s decision has now been upheld following the appeal process.
