Ports Authority and East End Lions are set to renew their fierce rivalry on Sunday when the two East End giants meet in the opening round of the Premier League in Freetown.
The much-anticipated encounter, widely regarded as the East End Battle, will see East End Lions host the “Waterfront Boys” at the Trade Centre, with both sides eager to make a winning start to the new campaign.
The “Killers” head into the contest looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Bo Rangers in the SLFA Men’s Unity Cup at the Southern Arena Complex in Bo.
Much attention will also be on Lions’ new Egyptian striker, who is expected to make his first start in the club’s colours as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Ports Authority, meanwhile, will be hoping to maintain their recent advantage over their city rivals. In their last three Premier League meetings, the Waterfront Boys have recorded one victory and two draws, leaving them unbeaten against East End Lions during that period.
With history, rivalry and bragging rights at stake, Sunday’s encounter promises to be another fascinating chapter in the long-running East End rivalry.
