Sierra Leone’s Shooting Stars have secured a place in the semifinals of the 2026 WAFU-A U20 Male Championship after holding Senegal to a goalless draw on Thursday in Mali.

Head coach Mohamed Lamin Kamara’s side advanced to the knockout stage with two points after recording consecutive draws in the group stage.

Sierra Leone midfielder Mohamed C. Jalloh of Star Sport was named Player of the Match for his performance against Senegal.

The Shooting Stars will now face The Gambia in the semifinals, while Senegal, who finished as Group B winners, will take on Guinea for a place in the final and an opportunity to qualify for next year’s U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Reacting to his team’s progression, head coach Mohamed Lamin Kamara expressed confidence in his players’ ability to rise to the challenge in the knockout stage and make Sierra Leoneans proud.
